From DNA to Listening to What You Say
I have always been interested in how we ‘work’ as human beings.
My education and experience helps me understand us across many levels,
from the molecular and neurobiological to the complete person-in-environment.

GeneticistI earned a PhD in Human and Medical Genetics from Emory University in 1999.
I studied genetics to understand the influence of the gene-environment interaction on human suffering. I am drawn to methods and approaches that resonate with my scientific background, allow me to pull in biological awareness, and are well-supported by research. |
US Public Health ScientistAfter earning my PhD, I served in the US Public Health Service for over a decade at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) .
While there, I worked in several positions including as an Evaluator. Using this experience, I work with you to create therapeutic, behavioral, and life goals. We will regularly assess progress toward those goals. |
Clinical Social WorkerAfter working in basic research and applied public health, I wanted to work directly with people and assist them in creating meaningful lives.
I earned a Masters of Social Work from the University of Georgia in 2013. Now, I'm an LCSW private-practice owner. I specialize in mindfulness-based behavioral therapies helping improve many different behaviors, experiences, and human suffering. |
I have a strong value around continuing education and I extend my training each year.
This benefits you by ensuring I maintain a diverse skill set that can flexibly respond to your needs.
